Pytons - Research Paper Example Since pythons are non-venomous, they depend heavily on bank heavily on their strength to catch their prey, because of their strength they can swallow large animals like pigs, dogs, cats etc. Reticulated pythons are considered to be the world’s longest snakes, these pythons measure up to 33 feet long. Pythons bite their prey and then they wrap their body around their prey and use their strength to squeeze it until the prey is suffocated and is unable to breath. Hence their prey dies and once the prey is dead they swallow the whole body and eat it in single gulp (Goldish). It is said that a python takes several days to digest its prey. Pythons lay 2-10 eggs and incubation time for their eggs is 56 days. On an average the life span of a python is around 25 years, but 48 years is the maximum a ball python has said to have lived.
